Graphic Design

Website Strategy and Design for Finished Art, Inc.

Objective Finished Art was considering creating a blog, but the company was not sure whether it was worth the effort or how the blog would actually work. During some free time, I decided to sit down and think about whether a blog could be a good idea for the company and what benefits and challenges […]

Infographic Design Rules

Lately, I’ve come across quite a few articles about infographic design — determining whether or not it is overused and discussing proper usage. Here are two articles and my favorite takeaways: The Do’s And Don’ts Of Infographic Design from Smashing Magazine. Show, Don’t Tell — A rule of cinema is to show, don’t tell. The […]

Coca-Cola Packaging

16 oz PET 4 pk Carrier I was asked to design graphics for a new 16oz 4pk carrier for the four core Coca-Cola brands. After receiving the die guide, I cut, folded and glued to create a full-size prototype that I could fit over four 16oz bottles. This allowed me to see exactly how the […]

Texting While Driving Infographics

Idea Visualization The first phase of this research project involved collecting various statistics related to texting while driving. After recognizing patterns in the data, our team classified the information into semantically appropriate visual models that show relationships with multivariate data. These visual models were presented in a poster.

Taylor-Made Deep Creek Vacations Website Design Taylor-Made Deep Creek Vacations was a start-up rental property management business when I began working on their site as a freelance job in February 2008. I designed comps for all the primary and secondary pages, then built out the entire site. The company grew very quickly, and I maintained […]

Commonwealth Emergency Physicians Logo Commonwealth Emergency Physicians is a moderate-sized community hospital located in northern Virginia. The company wanted to project a professional, modern image that also conveys excellence, timeliness, caring, and progressive thinking. When I asked the group if there were any logo designs in their field they really liked, I found out they […]

EcoLabs

While researching sustainability graphics for my M.A. Final Project, I came across EcoLabs and the concept of eco-literacy. EcoLabs is a not for profit network of designers and visual artists who create materials, projects and programs that support ecological literacy. The aim of the organization is to nurture whole systems thinking, foster ecological literacy, and […]
